Lanzarote - the lunar landscape on Earth! Part ||

Image
La Cueva de los Verdes (The Cave of the Greens) Located just 1 kilometer from the Jameos del Agua, it belongs to an underground pipe system of about 6 km of length. Caves and galleries emerged during a prehistoric eruption of the Monte de La Corona volcano more than 4,000 years ago. The visit lasts about 45 minutes, travel approximately 2 km.  El Golfo (The Gulf)  In very few places you can have the privilege of seeing a crater at sea level. The Gulf formed due to the eruptions of 1730. The crater has been flooded with seawater with a greenish color, produced by the algae found on its surface. The combination of colors attracts the attention of all those who look out over the viewpoint. The bright green of the lagoon contrasts with the intense blue of the ocean, the black of the strip of sand and the reddish rock formations that frame the image. You can descend to the lagoon by a steep slope. Los Hervideros (Boiling Waters) Los Hervideros, a compl...

Lanzarote - the lunar landscape on Earth! Part I

Lanzarote is a unique island with beaches of golden sand, transparent turquoise waters and spectacular volcanic landscapes. It is an ideal destination for your holidays with an excellent climate throughout the year. It is the third most populated island of the Canary Islands, and also one of the driest: its volcanic aspect is completed by golden beaches that populate the sands of the Sahara desert and a landscape that could well be the Moon. Lanzarote is located in this ocean, about 140 kilometers from the northwestern coast of the African continent. The island is one of the seven Canary Islands that form the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands. The Island of the volcanoes was originated by the effect of the geological processes derived from the opening of the Atlantic Ocean. It is estimated that about 11 million years ago lava emissions began to surface. Lanzarote was declared a Biosphere Reserve by Unesco in 1993. 43% of the surface of the island is protected territo...

Bora Bora is part of the set of Leeward Islands of the Society Archipelago and is located 270 km northwest of Tahiti. With its coral bottoms, solitary white sand beaches and a half submerged volcanic crater, it is the ideal image of the South Seas paradise and the most publicized island in the world. This natural miracle is only 38 km² in area, it is inhabited by approximately 10 000 people, welcomes close to 200 000 visitors each year and its hotel capacity exceeds 1000 beds. The dimensions of the main island is only 10 km long and 4km wide and has a partially paved road of 30 km of perimeter. The particularity of Bora Bora is that it combines the two types of island in French Polynesia: the high one, with mountains in the center and the low one, with an atoll formed by a ring of coral skimming the water.
